Hey Friends,
I forgot how busy May was until I had grandchildren. No matter the age of your children, your calendar is full this month. There are graduations, pre-school picnics, field trips, weddings, field days, graduation parties, class parties, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, etc.
With all the necessary busyness, we don’t take the time to care for ourselves. Let me give you some guidance for your spiritual well-being.
In a perfect world, there would be plenty of uninterrupted time every day to sit in the quiet of the morning, sip your coffee slowly, read your Bible, and peacefully follow along in your bible study. (We wish this were happening!)
- Pick a time to do your bible study and share it with your family.
When you commit to a time in advance and share it with those who could potentially interrupt you, you will be much more likely to follow through.
- Set a daily reminder on your phone for the time you plan to do your bible study.
If necessary, set an alarm! When your reminder goes off, shut off all potential interruptions. Consider putting your phone in Sleep or Do Not Disturb mode.
- Do your bible study with someone!
Even if they aren’t in the same room with you, they can help you stay accountable, and you can share what you’re learning together.
Studying the Word of God changes you from the inside out. Follow these tips, and you’ll be surprised how much time you spend in the Word. More than anything, you’ll encounter Jesus repeatedly in the pages of Scripture. That friend is the greatest treasure of studying the Bible!
